Foundation Gallery was established to give exposure to art marking within social environments that are often overlooked by the mainstream art community. Foundation appreciates and is inspired by artists emerging from street culture: skateboarding, graffiti, punk rock, hip-hop and other DIY cultures. Together, Elizabeth Cline and Michael Coleman created Foundation as a venue in Chicago to support local, national and international artists from underground and independent subcultures.

In 2006, Foundation uprooted from it's Chicago home and relocated to Los Angeles, forming Foundation Projects. As curatorial project, Foundation Projects stays true to the mission of the original gallery but no longer is constrained to exhibiting artists and projects within the parameters and limitations of a traditional gallery space.

Foundation Projects will continue to represent a collection of artists and develop exhibition programs that will be hosted in cities nationally and internationally.
